Tasemere is such a gem! We connected on Slack through the Black Professional Network. I had the honor of being her first podcast interview! Tasemere Gathers has spent a decade working with entrepreneurs in the non-profit sector. Tasemere’s focus on community building/commercial revitalization allows her to quickly understand the challenges that businesses face and provide actionable solutions that can be implemented. Before launching the brand, Tasemere freelanced in her spare time, giving start-up advice to friends and colleagues.

Inspired by the abundance of African American culture Black-owned businesses are a vital part of the communities in New York City. When Black-owned businesses flourish entrepreneurs have been able to provide a pathway to generational wealth. Yet, Black entrepreneurs face massive barriers and are underrepresented among New York City’s business owners making it extremely difficult for them to create opportunities that will allow them to be successful.

Brunch Pitch Competition is a platform that will allow Black entrepreneurs across the spectrum of development the opportunity to pitch their business.
